Mental Health in Salt Lake City

Intermountain Health's dedicated LGBTQ+ Primary Care clinic at the Salt Lake Clinic provides whole-person affirming care from clinicians specifically trained in LGBTQ+ health. Services include comprehensive primary care, preventive screenings, feminizing and masculinizing hormone therapy, PrEP and PEP for HIV prevention, mental health support, and virtual visits available statewide. The clinic has earned recognition as an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

UAF Legacy Health (formerly Utah AIDS Foundation) is Utah's first full-service LGBTQ+ health clinic, providing primary care, gender-affirming hormone therapy, HIV and STI testing, PrEP and PEP, and behavioral health services. The clinic operates on a sliding-scale fee structure ensuring care is accessible regardless of insurance status. Providers are specifically trained in LGBTQ+ health needs including minority stress, gender identity, and sexual health.

The University of Utah Health Transgender Health Program provides comprehensive gender-affirming care for transgender adults in a fully trans-affirmative academic medical environment. Services include primary care, feminizing and masculinizing hormone therapy, gender-affirming surgical referrals, gynecology and urology, mental health services, and support groups. The program serves patients from across Utah and the Intermountain West.

The Utah Pride Center is Utah's primary LGBTQ+ community organization providing mental health services, peer support groups, and crisis resources on a sliding-scale fee basis. Licensed therapists and trained interns offer individual counseling, identity-affirming therapy for LGBTQ+ adults and youth, and therapist-led support groups. The center also provides LGBTQ+ cultural competency training and connections to affirming community resources.
